The iconic Ford F-150 is back for another great year in 2022. Ford continues to impress with its high-quality, durable F-150 trucks, offering drivers several packages to outfit their trucks to meet their daily needs. No detail has been overlooked, from the towing and payload capabilities to the high-performance interior. These features are what drivers are talking about on the 2022 Ford F-150.
Trim Levels (Exterior)
The 2022 Ford F-150 is offered in eight trims: XL, XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, Platinum, Limited, Tremor, and Raptor. The base XL has standard 17-inch steel wheels, tow hooks, black exterior accents, and a key lock tailgate. Upgrades include an onboard scale to measure payload weight, a power tailgate, a spray-in bedliner, and heated, power-adjustable side mirrors.
The Raptor offers a bold look with 17-inch off-road tires, flared front fenders, steel front-rear bumpers, and skid plates. Finally, the King Ranch, Platinum, and Limited offer a sophisticated look with 18-inch to 22-inch aluminum wheels, a twin-panel moonroof, running boards, and chrome exterior accents.
Engine (Power)
Ford has six engine options for the 2022 F-150, all paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission. First is a 3.3-liter V-6 that puts out 290 horsepower and 265 pound-feet of torque. Next, you can select a turbocharged 2.7-liter V-6 for 325 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque. For more power, pick the turbocharged 3.5-liter V-6 engine that garners 400 horsepower and 500 pound-feet of torque. Standard on the King Ranch and Platinum trims is the popular 5.0-liter V-8, which produces 400 horsepower and 410 pound-feet of torque.
Ford also offers a hybrid engine that combines an electric motor and battery pack with a 3.5-liter V-6 to get you 430 horsepower and 570 pound-feet of torque. Opting for the Raptor trim, you'll find a turbocharged 3.5-liter V-6 producing 450 horsepower and 510 pound-feet of torque.
Performance
When properly equipped, the 2022 Ford F-150 offers a maximum towing capacity of 14,000 pounds and a payload capacity ranging from 1,840 to 3,250 pounds. Rear-wheel drive is standard on most models, but Ford also offers an available four-wheel-drive system, allowing for better traction and control on roadways. New this year, Ford is offering Pro Power OnBoard, which turns your F-150 into a generator that lets you charge tools and devices at the work site to help you get the job done.
Interior
The 2022 Ford F-150 meets the needs of those using the truck as a workspace by creating functional features while also providing premium cabin materials for those looking to drive a truck in comfort. Standard trims include an 8-inch infotainment system compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 12-volt power outlet, vinyl floor covering, and cloth seats. Trims such as the King Ranch, Platinum, and Limited come standard with a fully flat load floor, dual-zone electronic temperature control, and ambient lighting. The more rugged Raptor has all-weather rubber floor mats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and a stowable floor shifter.
