These are the days of the future and electric trucks are here. If you’re looking to minimize your environmental impact, the 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning is the truck for you. You can travel up to 320 miles on a single charge with an available extended-range battery, and it doesn’t require the truck to compromise on towing power. Here are some of the best parts of the F-150 Lightning.

Basics about the F-150 Lightning

A standard-range battery and an extended-range battery are available on the Lightning. The standard range has 230 miles of charge, while the extended range has 320 miles. An 80-amp charging station comes with the extended-range truck as standard equipment and can easily charge the battery fully in 8 hours.

The truck runs on a dual-motor system that delivers power to all four wheels. This model is the first F-150 to have an independent rear suspension, which will improve ride quality. To top everything off, the Lightning will have four drive modes: Normal, sport, off-road, and tow/haul.

New and Unique Features

Not only can your house power your truck, but your truck can now power your house. In the case of a power outage, the Lightning can power your home for up to 3 days, or 10 days with limited use. While the capability of powering your home only applies to extended-range trucks, all trucks can charge power tools and appliances directly from outlets in the cab and bed.

If you have the charge, you can even use your Lightning to rescue other electric vehicles – this F-150 can charge EVs with ease right from the truck bed. The front trunk, or the “Frunk,” is both high-tech and usable. You’ll find four electrical outlets and two USB chargers, a waterproof interior, and a power lift on the hood for easy access.

Technology

The Lightning offers two different infotainment systems depending on the trim level. The Pro and XLT come equipped with a 12-inch touch screen in a landscape format, while the Lariat and Platinum can be upgraded to a 15.5-inch screen in portrait format. Both screens have quick responsivity, great graphics, and easy-to-navigate menus. Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Amazon Alexa are supported by the screens.

Some of the standard features include remote keyless entry and a push-button start. Available features include the phone-as-key functionality, ambient cabin lighting, and a moonroof.

You can’t go wrong with the F-150 Lightning. From an extended-range battery to the ability to rescue other stranded EVs, this truck was built with the driver in mind. If you have any questions, make sure to stop by Nashville Ford today so we can help you find the vehicle perfect for you.
